WE DID IT! Against Racism, We Planted 10,639 Trees!

Each tree that sprouts from the soil is an act of resistance, a gesture of hope, and a manifesto for life. In Parelheiros, where 60% of the population is Black or Brown and 48% is up to 29 years old, regenerating the Atlantic Forest is not just about planting trees. It is about planting rights, dignity, and a future. It is about caring for the forest while also caring for peripheral youth who carry, in their bodies and histories, the marks of a country that still needs to learn how to recognize and value life.

The collective planting actions of the “Against Racism, I Plant” campaign showed the transformative power of collective action. Every hand in the soil, every seedling placed in the ground, reaffirms that the fight for the environment is inseparable from the antiracist struggle and from climate justice. Regenerating the forest means confronting environmental racism and building territories where life can flourish with equality and solidarity. 🌳

This is not just the milestone of 10,639 native Atlantic Forest trees planted; it is the materialization of a collective dream. It is the territory healing, hope growing, and resistance being sown. It is the community’s gesture saying: “we exist, we resist, and we take care of our Earth.”

🌿 Our special thanks to the institutions, collectives, organizations, and people who dreamed alongside us!

Our gratitude goes to every person who dedicated time, energy, care, and courage to make this dream come true. Together, we turned planting into resistance, the forest into strength, and the future into possibility. 🌿
