Mães Mobilizadoras meet with Minister Guilherme Boulos and State Representative Ediane Maria in Brasília

On Tuesday—marked by the strength and symbolism of the March of Black Women—representatives of IBEAC, Flávia Kolchraiber (Project Coordinator) and Maria Alves (Local Manager), took part in a meeting with Minister Guilherme Boulos and State Representative Ediane Maria to present the Institute’s more than 40-year trajectory in defending human rights and building transformative actions in peripheral territories.

During the meeting, the team shared the work of the Mães Mobilizadoras of Parelheiros, an initiative that strengthens care, autonomy, and leadership among women—especially Black women—in creating solutions for their own territories.

The Minister acknowledged the strength and impact of this experience, and the Representative reinforced the urgency of public policies that place care with and for women from peripheral communities at the center of decision-making.

We remain committed to building actions that can—and must—inspire and be replicated in other peripheral territories, always with women’s leadership as the driving force of social transformation.
