On November 12, 2024, we had the honor and privilege of welcoming Mozambican writer Mia Couto to Parelheiros, at the Azul das Ondas Community Library!
It was an inspiring morning in which the author shared his life stories with our community and talked about his new book, A Cegueira do Rio (Cia. das Letras). He also spoke about the exercise of hope in order to face current times, marked by the constant presence of fear. The chat with the author was mediated by Bel Santos Mayer, coordinator of IBEAC, and Sidineia Chagas, reading mediator at the Caminhos da Leitura Community Library.
Mia has been with us on two other occasions. Now, we were delighted to welcome him to Parelheiros for this beautiful event. The IBEAC team is grateful for this meeting.
