New Itinerant Exhibition in Parelheiros

From April 7 to May 16, 2025, the exhibition in Parelheiros will be open to visitors at Parelheiros Saudável Territórios Abraçados (CPCD Space – IBEAC). The arrival of the exhibition in the region reinforces the commitment to bringing Brazilian popular culture to different communities, as well as valuing and spreading the art of cordel.

In addition, this tour is taking place thanks to a partnership with the Museu da Pessoa Vozes Daqui de Parelheiros Center, which plays an essential role in preserving and disseminating local stories. The Nuclei of the Museu da Pessoa are initiatives aimed at recording and sharing memories that make use of the Museum’s methodologies. In this way, they promote connections between people and strengthen identities through life stories. With this collaboration, the exhibition takes on a new meaning, getting even closer to the public and broadening the reach of cordel literature.

About the Vidas em Cordel exhibition

The Vidas em Cordel exhibition presents 21 life stories transformed into cordel literature, highlighting the diversity and cultural richness of Brazil. Among the narratives are the stories of both ordinary people and notable personalities, such as indigenous leader Ailton Krenak and journalist Gilberto Dimenstein. In addition, each story is accompanied by woodcuts created by artists such as Lucélia Borges and Artur Soares, making the experience even more visual and immersive.

Visitors to the exhibition in Parelheiros will be able to record their testimonies in an interactive booth, contributing to the Museu da Pessoa’s digital collection. There is also a virtual version of the exhibition, with exclusive content and the free booklet “Vidas em Cordel para Educadores”, aimed at teachers and educational activities.
