Announcement about the action “Against racism I plant”

Attention, community!

As of December 2, 2024, we will begin cutting down pine trees in the area near Parque Nascentes do Ribeirão Colônia, an area donated to Cooperapas and IBEAC. This process is authorized and will include environmental compensation through the planting of native trees.

Additive Term | PA No. 2018-0.038.206-1

Deadline: Felling and compensation are scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2025. We know that the process may be strange, but in the end, the area will be healthier and more integrated into the ecological corridor, as well as containing the dispersal of pine seeds.

The planting is part of the “I plant against racism” campaign, in which 10,639 trees will be planted. The number refers to Law 10.639/2003, which amended the National Education Guidelines and Bases Law (Law 9.394/1996) to include Afro-Brazilian History and Culture in the curriculum. We’ll have more news soon!

Thank you for following and sharing this important information. Together, we are strengthening care for the environment and all forms of life, in order to build a fair and sustainable future!
